Dal Handi was popularized in India .When many people from the Punjab migrated to the northern regions of India. Dal Handi is now universally recognized as a quintessentially Indian dish, and variations of the fare are served in a wide variety of eateries and restaurants internationally. Today i am posting this recipe it is very easy . Put the dals in cooker . Now add 5 cup of watrer and cover partially and cook on medium heat till sift nearly 2 whishles. Mash the dal slightly with heavy spoon
Ingredients For Daal :-
250 gm Boiled Split Red Gram
100 gm chana daal Boiled
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped tomato
1 tbsp green chilli
1/2 tbsp ginger paste
1/2 tbsp garlic paste
1 tsp red chilli powder
2 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
2-3 bay leaves (tejpatta)
2 cloves
2 red chilli dry
1 chakra phol
salt to taste
2 tbsp ghee.
2 tsp cumin seeds
Pinch of asafetida (hing)
Method :-
Now take a heated pan put the ghee.
Add cumin seeds all garam masaslas(whole) and hing.
Wait for 5-6 sec and now add green chlli , onion . ginger garlic .
Cook it .
Now it looks like brown now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, salt .and cook for 2 min .
Now add tomato.
Now add 2 tbsp water.and cook it .for 6-7 min.Now oil and masala are separated . add all boiled daal .
Cook for 10 min at medium flame .
Add some chopped coriander leaves .
Spicy Handi daal is ready to eat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
